-nymphs in marshy ponds, lakes and slow flowing forest streams with muck bottoms (Abbott 2005); found in nearly any quiet water with a muck bottom, usually on or near forests, including rivers, some in sand bottomed lakes with forested shores (Dunkle 1989); in sunlit or partially shaded ponds (Orr, Honig & Behrstock 1999)
